Andrew Crowder

Andrew is an experienced naturalist and Tour Leader with a life long history of observation, study and sheer enjoyment of wildlife. His interest in natural history started as a young boy watching birds and they remain his first passion. Andrew has spent extensive time in many parts of mainland Scotland and its incredible islands, both from the land and sea. His other great wildlife passion is for cetaceans, with thirty years of experience studying them, and he also has skills in wildlife photography.

Focusing mainly on Western Palearctic birding, Andrew has travelled extensively and accrued a wealth of knowledge. With a particular focus on birds and cetaceans, Andrew has experienced amazing wildlife as a Polar Expedition Guide at both ends of the planet and many places in between. As part of that journey of discovery, he worked for ORCA, a UK conservation charity, and he is a qualified Marine Mammal Surveyor and Ocean Conservationist. He recognizes the emotional reaction in humans when they have great wildlife encounters, and uses his knowledge and enthusiasm to help more people share such inspirational experiences and thereby promote the conservation of our precious natural world.
